This privacy policy describes how Smartbox Solutions BV (“we”, “us”, “our”) handles personal data when using our website, the SmartboxPower app and the associated services. We attach great importance to your privacy and handle your data carefully and confidentially, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Smartbox Solutions BV is the controller for the processing of personal data as described in this privacy policy.

Contact form and spam protection

When you use the contact form, we process your name, company name, e-mail address, possibly telephone number, type of organization, subject and message to answer your request.

We use Google reCAPTCHA to protect the contact form against spam and abuse. The control loads when you use the form. Google processes technical data and data about your interaction with the website in order to recognize automated abuse. 2. Which data we process

Account details: your email address and login details, to give you access to the app. Your account is provided by your installer or energy company.
Authentication data: security tokens and, if you enable this, your preference for biometric login (Face ID / fingerprint). These are stored encrypted on your own device.
Installation and energy data: measured values of the energy installation(s) linked to your account, such as solar generation, battery status, grid exchange, wind energy and consumption. These are shown to give you insight into your installation.
Technical data: limited technical information required to establish a secure and reliable connection.

3. What we use your data for

We only use your data to:

allow you to log in securely and verify your identity (including two-step verification);
display the energy data of your installation(s) in real time;
generate statistics and reports that you can view and export in the app;
to secure, maintain and ensure the proper functioning of the service.

4. Basis for processing

We process your data on the basis of the execution of the agreement between you (or your organization) and Smartbox Solutions BV, and on the basis of our legitimate interest to provide a safe and reliable service. Where required, we process data based on your consent.

5. Biometric data

If you enable Face ID or fingerprint, that biometric information remains entirely on your own device, within the secure Keychain (iOS) or Keystore (Android). We do not receive or store biometric data; We only store your preference as to whether biometric login is on or off.

6. Sharing with third parties

We do not sell your data or use it for advertising. We only share data when necessary:

with service providers who provide our server infrastructure and hosting, only to the extent necessary to provide the service and under appropriate processing agreements;
with your own installer or energy company, who manages your installation;
when we are legally obliged to do so.

7. Retention period

We do not store your data for longer than necessary for the purposes described in this policy or as long as you have an active account, unless a legal retention obligation requires us to keep data for longer.

8. Security

We take appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data. Login details are stored encrypted on your device and connections to our servers are made via encrypted (TLS) connections.

9. Your rights

You have the right to view, correct, delete or limit your personal data and to object to the processing. You also have the right to portability of your data.
